So, it’s the depths of winter now, and in northern climes, it’s chilly, rainy, snowy, and in a way–comfortingly bleak. What are your favorite activities to do during the winter? Ski? Skate? Hole up with a book and cocoa? Hike in the snow? Or are you in warm weather this time of year–what’s your winter like?
What are your fave winter activities?

Hibernation… I hate the cold weather. And living in bc canada we get a lot of snow. I absolutely hate it. Give me sunshine and warm weather any day!
Warm snuggly clothes, warm socks, caffine free pepsi with lots of ice. My TV is on, and my laptop is on my lap with games loaded.
Got my comfy’s on, warm socks, and a light blanket. My dog any cat ate curled up with me. A hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate and a good book.
When we do get freezing cold I like to snuggle under blankets and watch Doctor Who with hubby. If he’s working I read a book with kitties.
I usually just have a hot chocolate and hibernate. But I do go out for Doctor’s appointments and a bit of shopping .
My husband and I bundle up and walk our snow loving dog Britta, no matter the temperature. She’s a black German Shepherd. We live in Maine, so it’s cold and snowy this year. We also make sure to get to the gym most days. If I’m staying in due to poor weather, my favorite activity is reading a good book or watching a Hallmark movie. I do also enjoy cooking dinner for my husband and son. Enjoy your winter
I make myself go outside 6 days a week to get my steps in to help with my T2D otherwise I love to bake or read inside and stay warm
I live in southeast Florida. We rarely get winter weather. When we do, it’s usually only a few days of temperatures in the 40s (F). Wind chills may dip into the 30s. That weather never lasts long. When the weather gets back up to the 50s I open the house up for a few hours to give the AC a break. The past few years have wreaked havoc on central and north Florida. They can keep it. I’m happy with my 2-3 sunny days that are above freezing. I AM NOT a cold weather person. I tend to get whiny and not leave the house.
I’m not a winter person. I’m usually on my couch, heating pad on my lap, with either a book or the television on PBS. evven my cats take turns during that time being on my lap until they get too warm. While I’m in an area that doesn’t get snow, we still get rain. So I try to do outside errands like shopping in between storms.
My favorite winter activity has to be hiking in a local state forest with my husky, Kiana. There are trails there, that when snow is falling, look like pathways to other worlds. It’s absolutely beautiful. And I can pretend Ki is my wolf companion, lol! This year, unfortunately, I fractured my femur, so it’s burying myself in a good book with my fur babies surrounding me while I recuperate!
With the cold weather biting through my bones, I prefer to stay inside with a fire cuddled under a blanket with a good book, hot cocoa with added spirits and my cats (hubby included). Cold weather and age definitely don’t like the old bones.
I also began a new hobby of making my own organic make up products and the big hit this winter has been the organic floral lip balms. I even had one person tell me nothing worked for her till she used my lip balm and would continue to do so. So, no matter our age, we can all learn something new and winter is a time that offers me a bit more time to do the things I always wanted to try.
Best Wishes and Keep Warm~

My favorite winter activity is being able to do things outdoors, period. I’m in Phoenix, AZ, and we Phoenicians emerge from indoors in winter, similar to how others in cold climates do in spring . I’ve lived here for 45 years, and this is the warmest winter I can remember. I haven’t had to turn my heater on and I’m still sleeping with a light blanket and a fan running because the days are around 73 and the nights around 48. I love to curl up and read all times of the year, of course, but at least I can cuddle up with some fuzzy socks in winter. It’s also nice to go hiking and to farmer’s markets and such because it’s not 115 degrees. If I really want to, I can drive a couple of hours north to Payson or Flagstaff and ‘visit’ the snow!
I hibernate with a good book, my streaming services and hot drinks during the winter. I hate the cold.
