On Beltane--May 1, 1993--in a friends' apple orchard in western Washington that was decorated in streamers and a thousand gold origami cranes, beneath the watchful eyes of the gods and our friends, we pledged our love and vows together. On August 12, 2000, on another friends' land, we renewed our vows (we picked summer so it would be warm). And we’re still going strong.
