Snoqualmie, Washington, is about 28 miles east of Seattle.  Famous for its waterfall and the Salish Lodge, which was used in the filming of Twin Peaks, it's a beautiful town close enough to the city to still be able to commute and yet far enough to feel like you're rural.  From the serene flow of the Snoqualmie River, to the beauty of Snoqualmie Falls, to the historic "train graveyard" for old fashioned locomotives, it's a great place to get away for the day.

Trail on the other side of the road from the swimming hole at the river.
Not sure if this was a lake or part of
the river but it was beautiful.
