Just what do I have to offer your company?

• A good, basic understanding of a variety of development languages.  When I'm in a development environment, I tend to learn quickly.
• Loyalty and consistency.
• Work finished on time and a willingness to work overtime when necessary.
• Willing to work as part of a team and to switch tasks as needed.
• Nonsmoker, non-drinker.

If I were to list my ideals in a position:

• Software development (preferably in Visual Basic or .NET, though I can program and develop in several languages).
• Testing that has more responsibility than one-task only jobs.
• Some flexibility in working hours, steady work--I like to be busy.
• Regular meetings with my supervisor to discuss the changing needs of the project and my progress.
• Good feedback.
• And the ideal dream job would allow telecommuting, though I know there's very little chance of that at this time.

If I were to list my ideals in a company:

• Casual dress (long hair--but neat--acceptable),
• Easy access (I do have a disability but it does not interfere with my work, however I have trouble with flights of stairs, etc.).
• Good support for tech personnel, clear communication of expectations, clear communications between all personnel involved in a project.
• Pay that matches industry standards, health benefits.
• Lots and lots and lots of coffee!  (Juice is good too).

What I'm not looking for:

• A position requiring me to write--I'm not a writer.
• Management positions where I'm not hands-on involved in the programming/developing.  I prefer to be assigned tasks rather than to hand them out.
• Home business opportunities or other risk-oriented speculations.

My Personal Development Experiences:

In the past, I've developed a database system from scratch, using Microsoft SQL Server, and Visual Basic as a front end. When I first thought of creating this system, I knew nothing about either database programming or Visual Basic so I set about teaching myself database programming, database administration, three tiered development, and of course Visual Basic. Once I accomplished these ends, then I was able to create the system that my employer needed.

Created forum boards using ASP pages and VB Script/JavaScript.
Created an Asteroids game, using DirectX 7.0 and Visual C++.
Created other simple games using Visual C++.
Created web-based applications.
