Chintz and China Mystery Series

You aren't in Pleasantville anymore...

The Chintz 'n China Mystery Series isn't your typical mystery series. Follow the exploits of Emerald O'Brien, who's considered the town witch. The owner of the Chintz 'n China Tea Room, Emerald also happens to be psychic, and a tarot-reader. She lives in the small (fictional) town of Chiqetaw, Washington, with her two children and four cats. She's used to hanging out with ghosts and other supernatural beasties, but doesn't particularly want them bothering her family. Along with her best friends Murray--a cop, and Harlow--an ex-supermodel, Emerald finds herself embroiled in murder, mystery and mayhem that comes at her from both the 'mundane world' and the supernatural side of life (and death).

These are *very* paranormal--not just mystery with a dash of ooh-spooky.

Order the book: Legend of the Jade Dragon

Berkley has repackaged the entire Chintz 'n China Series—the final book (One Hex of a Wedding) will be on the shelves as of November 2009. No, there won't be any more books, however Legend of the Jade Dragon is now back in print. The series will still be under the Berkley Prime Crime imprint, but it will no longer be called the Chintz 'n China Series.

Tarot cards seldom lie. So when they predict chaos and bad luck for her last client of the day, Emerald gets more than a little worried. He leaves behind a charming jade statue of a dragon--but promptly dies in a hit-and-run accident outside of her shop. When other terrible things begin to plague Em and her family, the only explanation is the jade dragon. To thwart its evil spell, she'll have to follow a trail of heartache all the way back to China's Ming Dynasty--and its ancient--and sometimes harsh--mysteries.
